Why "Memento Mori" Paranormal?
In Ancient Rome, it was reminder that all will pass on and to live the best life that you could. Conquering generals would have a man walking behind him, calling out “Memento Mori” to temper the adulation of the crowds… reminding him to not be too proud, that he too would one day pass.
In the Victorian Era, it became a mission statement for those looking to use science to unlock the mysteries of the afterlife… usually in direct opposition to what was considered plausible at the time. Also, during this time, it was common practice to take photographs of loved ones who had departed… not unlike what we attempt to do, when trying to capture the image of an entity.
With more and more evidence being captured in photographs or in video and audio recordings, the paranormal field is gaining credibility and acceptance… what was ridiculed and considered absolutely implausible not that long ago, is widely accepted today (the idea of Electronic Voice Phenomenon for example).
Our mission is to use the best scientific techniques available to us to record paranormal evidence. With that evidence, we do what we can for those who ask for our help and continue the search for answers in the paranormal field.

The Team
If it is possible to be a person who has one foot cemented on the skeptical side and the other foot firmly planted on the side of the believer... I am that person. Having been fascinated by technology and science from a very early age and enthralled by the paranormal / supernatural / cryptozoological for as long as I can remember, I guess that it was just a matter of time before the two would combine. That's what happened a number of years back on a trip to St. Augustine (See the full story at the bottom of this page).
My main focus is to help people find answers, considering that most people don't know who to turn to if they do need help or if they are even experiencing paranormal activity. My goal is to build a team of investigators and technicians that can not only do the investigation professionally, but relate to each of our clients and provide them with our findings whether it is nothing or something we have documented as evidence (definitions on the next page). Whether our findings are of the natural world or supernatural... we look for answers... not just ghosts.
All the technology and gadgets in the world are useless, unless we provide evidence that can stand scrutiny. If we are not only going to be taken seriously in the paranormal community but the world at large, then we have to be able to stand up to that scrutiny... because of this, I am the toughest critic in the group... I have to be.

Having been intrigued by the paranormal for as long as I can remember, I am always eager to find answers that others may be afraid to get. After all, people invite us into their homes and lives in the hopes of finding help and answers... but this is only good if what we do is accurate and not contrived to obtain a certain outcome.
I am committed to making sure that when we are helping our clients that our team is maintaining the highest of ethical standards and not sensationalizing a situation to get a "shocking" or "exciting" result.

I don't recall an incident that really started it for me. I do remember seeing glowing lights in my room as a child but being the big Disney fan that I was and am, I told my mom that Tinkerbell came to my room at night. I come from a scientific background. I majored in photography and have a minor in anthropology.
I like to figure things out, find the facts. I am also a lover of history, so being able to explore historic sites or even to investigate the more recent past is right up my alley. I also want to help people who might not have anywhere else to go. Sometimes people just need someone to talk to, to have someone who doesn't think they are crazy and that is where we come in, it's not like they can just call the police.

For as long as I can remember, I've been fascinated with the paranormal. People always ask what sparked my interest, and I always struggle to find an answer. Prior to investigating, I hadn't had any of my own paranormal experiences. But what I can tell them is that now, I love being able to help people find answers.
I love the unknown, finding out who are we communicating with and how we can help find answers. I believe that many spirits have things left that they need to do or say, and that I as an investigator can help them.

I have had experiences all my life... but then when I realized that people actually try to debunk and gather evidence to help people, I became obsessed. I remember once going into a shop in Gettysburg with my mom and the instant I stepped inside I felt as if someone was sitting on my chest. I just had this feeling something didn't want me there. My mom came up to me and asked me if I was okay because I was looking pale. I said I was "hot, cold, hot" and she said "we need to go". The minute we stepped out of the shop, the heavy feeling on my chest was gone and I felt better.
My very first case with Memento Mori Paranormal, I was up in the attic of a grand Victorian Manor doing an EVP session, we weren't getting much so we decided to leave. As we were leaving, I felt someone grab my arm as if they didn't want me to leave... but no one was there. We used a thermal camera on both arms and where I felt that I got touched was much warmer than the rest of my body. Those are just a few experiences I've had with the paranormal... and I am excited to experience more!

My aunt was a gifted sensitive and that sensitivity continues to run in my family. There are a number of occasions where I, myself, have had dreams of future events... so I guess that I've always had a connection to the "other side."
As an investigator in training, with this great team behind me, I hope to help others, strengthen my beliefs and give closure to questions for those longing for answers. To find confirmation, a volume of proof, that souls do exist long after we pass on.

As a child, I woke up early one morning, stumbled past my bathroom, and saw young, handsome man sitting at the vanity looking into the mirror. To this day I wonder who he was and what his background was.
I love stories. I love theories. I love history. I have spent my entire life living in the Pinelands in New Jersey (where the Jersey Devil was born and –possibly- still lives. Now, I am eager to learn what is out there and help those in search of answers too. What peaks my interest the most is the backstory, what each person’s experiences are. When not at work and doing investigations, I spend my free time listening to true crime and murder mystery podcasts and perpetually preparing for Halloween.
I am excited to be a part of the team and look forward to what is to come!

HISTORIC HAUNTS: An Enduring Friendship of Paranormal Proportions!
I had been fascinated by the Paranormal for a number of years and with an upcoming trip to one of America's Most Haunted Cities, St. Augustine, Florida. I should have known that it was inevitable that we would be ushered into the field. A while back, my wife and I walked into a shop and that's when we happened to cross paths with a young lady who had decades of experience already behind her and had her own paranormal investigations team, Jamie Pearce (back then Jamie Roush).
I was looking to purchase my first K2 meter, which I did... however, I found myself going back to the shop the next day and the next looking for more equipment and stories. Jamie kept in touch and even though I was merely looking for my first pieces of "ghost hunting" equipment, I got a friendship and mentorship that has grown ever since. Jamie invited us to join her team of experienced investigators and we had a number of amazing investigations together over the years. Soon, we became the Orlando Chapter of the Historic Haunts Team, bringing on new team members and running our own investigations. Now, we are embarking on our own.
The Historic Haunts Team has been an incredible group to be a part of and we are looking forward to doing more investigations together in the future! If you are in need of assistance in the Jacksonville area or if you are looking for some fascinating reading on paranormal investigation, check out her website and buy her books!
